The practice is a continuation of the practice started in the 1940’s by Frank Bingham, immortalised in the Herriot books as Ewan Ross………….
The Herriot connection was continued in the 70’s and 80’s when the BBC series was filmed mostly within the practice area. Mr Jack Watkinson MRCVS (now long retired) acted as adviser to the series.
Nowadays the practice aims to provide a high standard service particularly to the livestock farmers and pet owners of the surrounding district together with a pragmatic and practical service to the local equine community.
On occasions we will refer any complex pet or equine cases for more specialist opinions and treatments after discussion with the client.
We aim to communicate the likely costs of treatment with our clients on a case by case basis and so cater treatments to suit each clients individual budget.
Veterinary Science is a rapidly changing subject so we endeavour to keep pace with current trends by attending meetings and courses and also by providing modern equipment and facilities.
Constructive suggestions from our clientele are welcome. We are receptive to useful ideas and it often serves as an opportunity to explain the many factors involved in providing a privately funded 24 hour service within and from a small business.
A suggestion box is located in the entrance porch.
