We have pens at the Surgery to enable intra venous drips to be administered to sick or scoured calves. It greatly improves cure rates in cases of collapsed and dehydrated calves. We also undertake some calf surgery e.g umbilical hernias, contracted tendons and some leg fractures at the Surgery when general anaesthetic is indicated.
Some useful cow-side diagnostic tests are also carried out at the Surgery to enable ultra quick results to be obtained, e.g rotavirus/crytosporidia tests. These can be vital to select the appropriate treatment.
